The First Hindi Film to Be Made In China

Chandni Chowk to China is a Hindi film that was released in January 2009. It was directed by Nikhil Advani and stars Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone. This is the first Hindi film that was filmed partially in China. There were several scenes of this movie that were filmed in Bangkok, Thailand. The film represents the third Bollywood movie made and distributed.
The main character, Sidhu is a vegetable cutter at a roadside food stall in the Chandni Chowk section of Delhi. He dreams that someday he would leave his forsaken job to bigger and better adventures. This comes true when two strangers tell him he is a reincarnated war hero and take him to China.
Along his travels He meets the love of his life, Sakhi, who is also on a journey to the land of her birth. While in China, he comes across evil Hojo, who had tried to kill Sakhi’s father. Sidhu looks for revenge on Hojo, after he tries to kill Sidhu. Sidho trains with another stranger to improve his Kung Fu fighting skills so that he can defeat Hojo and win the love of Sakhi. Reviews considered this movie entertaining but said it was a little long and drawn out.
