Mother’s Day Poem

M – O – T – H – E – R

This is a wonderful word where each character means a lot about the woman, who gave birth to you in this world.

M – stands for “Memorable” you can forget anything or everything, but you can never forget who your mother is.

O – stands for “Only One” as you can have only one mother but can have any number of sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and other relations.

T – stands for “Trust” as you can never place an unassailable trust with any one else in this world that compares with the trust you have in your mother. Even you identify who your father is by the trust you have in your mother’s words.

H – stands for “Heart to Heart” as your mother knows you in and out and she can feel your heart as inside of her palms. You can confide with her anything and everything heart to heart.

E – stands for “Eternal” as your link with your mother starts from the umbilical chord and as far as you live on this earth, this relationship can not sever even when your mother is no more.

R – stands for “Real” as everything concerning your mother is for real – the affection, the care, the love, the best wishes, the blessings, the guidance, the friendship, or anything and you know there is no falsehood in any of these values which made you up today.

So putting all these startling characters of these adjectives M – O – T – H – E – R will make the word “Mother” – the inseparable divine force propelling you forward.

One should become a mother knowingly, fully aware of the responsibility. Don’t take it for granted that just by being a woman, one is necessarily a mother. That is fallacy. You must learn how to mother…

A Chinese friend writes: “I’m in a ‘hibernate’ state now. I’m not really sure of what I should do with my life. At times, I feel I should give birth to a child and have a normal life, like all other women. But then, that isn’t really me! Please advise…”

Millions of women around the world must experience this strange feeling, when they find themselves at a crossroads, utterly confused, not sure which way to go… In desperation, they end up choosing a well-trodden path which is to give birth to a child, or many children, and live ‘normal’ lives.

Osho says: “To become a mother is one of the world’s greatest responsibilities. Many women want to be mother but don’t know how. Once the mother-child relationship goes wrong, the child’s entire life goes wrong because his mother is his first contact with the world. Everything else is in continuity.”

Osho adds: “the desire to be a mother can be very strong. Nothing wrong with that but one should become a mother knowingly, fully aware. Don’t take it for granted that just by being a woman, one is necessarily a mother. That is a fallacy. Motherhood is a great art – learn it!”

Every woman needs to be meditative and fully conscious to give birth. A birth amidst confusion, depression or tension is the most uninviting space for new life to enter the world. To invite a noble soul into her womb, a woman must be full of peace. For that, its vital that the woman has a harmonious relationship with her man, their hearts beating in synchronicity. Then we can expect happy, fulfilled children.

My friend wants to be a mother, not because she knows how to but because she doesn’t know what else to do! But any step taken in confusion creates more confusion. Giving birth to a child, when your heart is not totally in it, can be disastrous.

Let you being blossom. You can give birth to yourself on a higher, super-conscious level!
