Samsung Blue Earth

The Samsung Blue Earth is the first cell phone to run using solar power or energy from the sun. It is also packed with several amazing features, some of which are also environment-friendly. Since it is from Samsung, you are guaranteed of the same quality found in other Samsung cell phones.
Samsung Blue Earth has a very simple design. It has a solar panel situated at the back which naturally charges the cell phone using the sun’s energy. In addition, this solar panel can generate more than enough energy that will allow you to call anytime, anywhere. With the new Samsung Blue Earth, there is no need to worry about charging your cell phone’s battery.
Another special feature of Samsung Blue Earth is its extraordinary casing which is made of recycled PCM or recycled plastic water bottles. Aside from its solar panel located at the back which naturally provides energy for it to function, the Samsung Blue Earth also comes with a plugged in charger. This charger has a lower power consumption compared with those traditional chargers found in most cell phones.
The Samsung Blue Earth also comes with an advanced power management feature. This allows you to easily control and adjust the brightness of the display and the power generating the Bluetooth radio. By doing so, you avoid draining your cell phone of its power.
Samsung Blue Earth comes with a built-in software application known as “Eco Walk” which resembles a carbon footprint pedometer. This special software will show how much help you are giving the planet through your carbon dioxide emissions by walking. The result is presented in the number of trees displayed on the cell phone.
Samsung Blue Earth is also packed with standard features which are also available in other Samsung cell phones. These include a 240×320 pixel display with the same interface as its brothers, especially with that of Samsung Pixon. However, the cell phone lacks a front-facing camera.
If the casing of the Samsung Blue Earth is made of recycled plastic water bottles, then its packaging is also light and completely made of recycled paper. Just imagine the number of trees you are saving.
However, the big question here is how sensible the Samsung Blue Earth is. Many questions will soon arise especially after it will be showcased in the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona next week. Is a solar powered cell phone applicable for use in areas of the world experiencing long winters when the sun can barely peak out of the sky? Can bad weather affect the amount of energy its solar panel can generate to power the cell phone? These are just some of the questions that will be answered soon.
There is no available price for Samsung Blue Earth yet but it will be made known to the public on the second half of the year.
