Movie Review – Radio (Hindi)

Himesh Reshmmiya, besides acting as the hero of the film Radio, has also done the music score and according to his blog, the sale of music CDs of the movie has already collected the production cast. Director Ishaan Trivedi has followed the style of one Hollywood hit in 2003 – with the same title Radio.
In the English movie, the story centered round a foot-ball coach, slightly retarded, but in the Hindi Radio (yet to be released on 3rd December) it is a love story, giving room for emotional conflicts, in the life of a Radio Jockey.
Produced by Ravi Agarwal, the story line goes thus – Vivan the hero (Himesh Reshammiya) is a successful RJ in one of the Radio channels of Mumbai. (People have not forgotten the Radio yet, even in this TV age). Unfortunately Vivan’s marriage with Pooja (Sonal Sehgal) ends in divorce.
A typical modern life style – both the husband and wife are busy with their respective work schedules – and instead of dragging on the pain of indifference in the same house, decide to part company.
Another young girl Shanaya (Shanaz Treasuryavala) enters Vivan’s life – first as an acquaintance, making Vivan simply smile at the memory of her and he even discusses her relationship with Pooja. But in the longer run, Pooja, being a shrewd lady understands Vivan’s love for Shanaya and becomes a medium between the two. What happens in this triangle is rest of the story.
The movie is stated to be short in length, running just 2 hours and within that time holds 12 (?) songs. “Man Ka Radio” is going to be a hit song and the film is expected to do moderately at the box office. Himesh Reshammiya has very beautiful voice as a singer and Radio should give him a new life – his earlier films “Aapka Suroor..” and “Karz” did not do well.
