Linux Dropped From Apricot Netbook Because Of Its Complexity

apricot.JPG

From its impending net book Apricot will be dropping the Linux because of its complexity. Initially the users could choose between XP and SuSE Linux. But after taking a survey the company is doing away with the latter.

Apricot states that Linux variants will not be henceforth sold keeping in mind the need of the customer to be able to smoothly install the operating systems. The Linux model was too complex for the beginners who invariably turned to buying and installing XP in any case. Apricot is confident that this offer will be more popular for the type of customers they target. Only by switching on the unit is ready for use.

But is it really all that complicated? An option for those who do not think so and are not shy of trying Windows alternatives would have been welcome.
