Mercedes-benz India has launched its premium and rugged off-roader G-wagen in Mumbai for a whooping Rs.1.1 crore (ex-showroom). The G-Wagen, which stands for Gelandewagen which literally means ‘cross country vehicle’ in German, is the elitist off-eroader in the Mercedes-Benz line-up. The India market will get the AMG tuned G55 model which is more performance oriented than its stock-sibling, G550. the AMG G55 is powered by 5.5 litre V8 507 horses at 6,100rpm and an earth-churning 700 Nm at 2,750rpm.

The G-Class is regarded as one of the most able off-roader from the Mercedes-benz portfolio and enjoys a long-standing heritage of over three decades. The design of the G-Wagen remains more or less untouched and still boasts of technologically the G-Wagen is equipment like permanent all wheel drive with three locking differentials, ESP and electronic traction control. The Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen is the quintessential off-roader for those who are looking for the best in luxury as well as some serious off-roading.

Tuesday, Honda revealed its latest hatchback, the Brio at the Thailand International Auto Expo 2010. The Introduction of Brio is momentous stride for Honda in fastest rising Asian Auto markets. The model revealed its significance in Thai market, but don’t disappoint Indian Auto freaks, it will be available in India for sure.

Honda Brio is obviously a competition for Maruti Suzuki Swift with price approx 5 lakh so it will also compete Hyundai i10, Ford Figo, Nissan Micra, Volkswagen Polo and upcoming hatchback of Toyota Eltios (will introduce In April 2011).

Honda Brio will be made in greater Noida ta Honda Siel’s where it has capacity of 100,000 unit per year. Right now, its capacity to utilize to assemble 65% units of the City, Jazz hatchback, Accord and Civic.

The latest model of Honda will beat Indian roads by first quarter of 2011.

Toyota Motor Corp, the world’s largest auto maker, on Wednesday launched a car designed specifically for India with the objective of cornering a much bigger share is one of the fastest growing automobiles markets.

The Toyota Etios is priced aggressively between Rs 4.9 lakh and Rs. 6.8 lakh (ex showroom Delhi) for the sedan version, significantly lower than that of competing models like Maruti’s Swift Dzire. A premium hatchback version will be launched in April next year. The two segments together constitute 37% of the Indian Car Market.

The Etios is said to be the result of the five years of intensive efforts to understand the Indian market and develop a platform suited to Indian conditions.

The car has been scrupulously tested on the roads of India. MD of Toyota Kiloskar, Hiroshi Nagakawa assures to sell 70,000 numbers of Eltios in 2011.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is ready to launch its pride, the Evolution X FQ-400, in India on this July 2010 which is believed to be the hottest model of the year. Mitsubishi will introduce its Evolution X in CBU (Completely Built Unit) form, which means that the Evolution X is completely built in Japan, and then sent to India in its ready form.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is featuring its tremendous speed with 403bhp to 387lb.ft of torque and 2 liters turbocharged MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control) petrol tank engine, it certainly can reach 155mph speed within 3.8 seconds. Tata Motors are in the news again – this time with a brand new Small Car – planned to be released for Indian market by 2012.
After successfully launching the popular smallest and cheapest Car “NANO”, Tata Motors are said to be in making another small car. This new edition is reported to be with the name “DOLPHIN” (What a beautiful name!).

This prototype is developed to fit in the new segment of 800 cc engine – something between Tata Indica and Nano. The new Dolphin is expected to be in the price range of 3.5 lakhs. It is not clear yet whether this new car Dolphin will also offer diesel variant (like their earlier versions) or not.

Already the Indian car market is flooded with a host of small cars – recently launched ones being Figo, Polo and Beat. Usurped by the competition of Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki is close on the heals to announce their new successor for their Maruti Alto and this is going to be – Alto with the latest 1 Liter Engine – and thus avoiding 800 cc to sustain the tempo in competition.

Maruti Suzuki relaunched its most popular hatchback Wagon R today, 23th April 2010 in India.  This new Wagon R {“The Blue-Eyed Boy:} is powered by same K-Series Engine which follows the A-star. The Wagon R was first launched in 2003, and then reversed in 2006 and now in 2010 in Indian market. This today launched WagonR is expected to be at nearest showroom very soon.

It has been redesigned completely, now it is taller, wider and bigger than the older one. This new car has increased to 1,495mm in width, 3,595mm in length and 10mm at 1700mm taller. Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel efficiency of 18.9 kmpl

At last Volkswagen has decided to upgrade its engines in some of its cars. In the Passat meant for India, it has introduced the Passat TSI.  The 1.8 litre TSI petrol engine – due to its compact and high-powered nature – is known for providing maximum power minimum fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Hyundai’s i20 was one of the better hatchbacks launched last year. And unlike the other super hatches this one had a wide range of variants at different price points which helped its cause. Now here we have the 2010 version of the i20. Apart from the existing variants, it has made two new additions – Era and Sportz – to its portfolio. The Era, available with both petrol and diesel engines, is the aggressively priced model, whereas the Sportz will be bridging the price gap between the Magna and Asta variants. This time we’ll be getting a six-speed manual transmission gear, which apart from helping in a smoother drive experience will also churn out better mileage, lesser noise, vibration and harshness of the engine and minimal wear and tear.

When AUDi first launched the A4 last year, it immediately caught the fancy of anybody who was looking for an alternative to the Merceded-Benz C-Class and the BMW 3 Series. But the problem was, you could only choose from the hyper 3.2 V6 Quattro, and a rather dull 2.0-litre diesel. Since then, however, Audi have introduced three more engines. A 1.8 turbo petrol with about 160 bhp (same as the Skoda Superb), the 2.0 TFSI from the Q5 with 178 bhp and the 3.0 TDI torque monster with 240 bhp. With this, the A4 offers the widest variety of engine choices in its segment, and with a price tag starting from Rs. 26.67 lakh to 36.4 lakh, it straddles several segments. Ride and handling are its forte, while features and space also receive a plus rating. It’s a worthy alternative to even some of the Japanese competition in the D-segment. As a complete all-round package, the a4 is hard to beat.
